One of the most exciting features of Las Palmas is the debut of the Las Palmas Resort Condominium Project. Imagine staying oceanside right at Las Palmas, with all of its amenities and convenience! We are currently beginning construction and offering extremely competitive pricing. When you visit Roatan, you will see that this opportunity is unique on the island. Advantages of Las Palmas Resort Condominiums:
Las Palmas is a restored and recreated Caribbean facility located on a seven-acre peninsula at Dixon's Cove Harbour, Roatan Island. Within Las Palmas exists sixteen individual artisan shops connected by an extensive boardwalk system winding along tropical gardens; an ocean front restaurant with covered dining and entertainment pavilions plus beach front decks with thatched palapas; a watersports area encompassing a two story dive/snorkel shop and docks for sail boats, dive boats, snorkel boats, fishing boats and kayaks; a wetlands and parrot preserve with additional boardwalks for exploration; and over six hundred feet of beach frontage including several white sand coves. Our shops, with their multi colored hues and metal roofs offer unique items---most with an island theme and many from Honduras itself. Since a goal of the owners of Las Palmas is to develop indigenous artisan products and services, you will see an increasing array of Proudly Made in Honduras items. Please talk to our store owners and operators, some of whom are just commencing their business ventures for the first time. Along the boardwalk you can stop for picture taking, brief rests on the benches or just continue to browse and shop for exotic items and bargains. At the end of this boardwalk is another covered pavilion from which dramatic ocean views up and down Roatan are possible. (Several of the shops have extra film if you need it.) Some of our local musical entertainment occurs here at the pavilion. Turn right and you follow a boardwalk with carts and kiosks brimming with wonderful trinkets such as conch shell jewelry. You also will pass several covered areas in which special services such as hair braiding or Roatan ladies telling the oral history of Roatan and sharing recipes for tapado, hot pepper sauce, coconut candy, johnny cake and more. At the end of this boardwalk is yet another pavilion. From this point you can proceed on a fun stroll with one of our very knowledgeable guides through our restored mangrove wetlands preserve and explore the iguana and exotic birds areas. (Certainly some picture memories at these points is a must.) As you circle back through the wetlands reserve you can take a few steps to the Las Palmas Beach Club or go back to the Shopping Boardwalk and left to the Las Palmas Water Sports Facilities. At the Las Palmas Beach Club, you can enjoy our natural white sand beach, decks and swimming pools, the island bar and the restaurant or try some island dances with the Garifinas at the tall-thatched pavilion. Dining at Las Palmas includes both Caribbean and US-style meals carefully prepared in our brand new, pristine, state of the art kitchens. At the Las Palmas Water Sports Facilities, you can step into a kayak, go snorkeling, go diving, or take a boat tour (our version of the African Queen) of Dixon Cove Harbour with its reefs, keys, mangroves, river ways, and a few still visible shipwrecks. Our boats are made on site by Mr. Linton Jervis who has been plying this trade for more than forty years. He will be pleased to show you the process. If you get wet, our tiled changing and rest rooms are next to the dive shop at the northern most pier. At the end of your day you will have experienced all the best of Roatan and we certainly will look forward to seeing you again. Contact us now for more information. |
