Map and Aerial Views of Spooky Channel and the Vista Villas

The Roatan Vista Villas are located in Sandy Bay on the northeast shore of Roatan Island.  There are two aerial photos below.  They are located exactly 4 miles from the airport along the main road.   Click here for detailed driving directions from the airport to the Villas.

Cool trade breezes keep the Villas pleasant year round.  On the picture below, our private dock is shown just right of the picture center.  On the left side of the picture is the Bay Island Beach Resort dock and bar/restaurant.  Outstanding snorkeling is available in 4 to 30 feet of water inside the reef.  The dive and snorkel location called Spooky Channel is the natural channel through the reef off our private pier.  The two Villa buildings are on the right side of the photo.  Scroll down to see a property outline aerial photo taken in the 1970s.  The photo below was taken in October 2003.

In the 1930s to 1970s, the Sunnyside area was a cow pasture and orchard area.  The neglected orchard (seen on the left side of the picture below) was purchased in 2004 by a Canadian couple and there plans are to revitalize the orchard.
